Hi, I’m Michelle, a therapist in Phoenix who works with teens and adults who feel caught between high expectations and a harsh inner critic.
Many of my clients are in advanced academic studies, private or arts-focused schools, or college. From the outside, they look like they’re doing “all the right things”; on the inside, they feel exhausted, anxious, and worried they’re always falling short.
In the therapy room, my style is warm, real, and collaborative. I’m interested in getting to know you—not just your symptoms. I draw from sensorimotor psychotherapy and other body-based approaches, which means we pay attention to both your thoughts and how your body has learned to cope with pressure, comparison, and stress. Together, we gently question the messages you’ve absorbed about success, appearance, and being “the good one.” We’ll work toward feeling more grounded, more present, and more connected to your own values.
Our conversations might include anxiety, body image, perfectionism, and important relationships, especially in your family and close circle. My hope is that therapy feels like a supportive, honest space where you don’t have to perform or have it all figured out, and where feeling understood comes before fixing anything.
Outside of work, I’m a mom, a fan of live music at small venues, and someone who doesn’t get tired of watching Arizona sunsets. Those parts of my life help me stay grounded and remind me how important it is to slow down and notice small, meaningful moments.
If you’re feeling stuck or unsure of your next step, you’re welcome here. Reach out to schedule a consultation, and we can see together whether this feels like a good fit for you right now.
