Hello! Welcome! My name is Emily and I am originally from Chicago, IL but have resided in AZ for the past four years. Though a Midwesterner at heart, Arizona became my newfound home (who could say no to this sunshine?!) when moving out here for graduate school and I have never looked back!
I completed my Undergraduate degree at University of Wisconsin-Madison (go badgers!!). After years of traversing the cold and snow, I finally made the jump to Arizona State University where I received my Masters in Social Work.
My route to therapy was a deeply personal one. After years of struggling with debilitating anxiety (school, sports, clubs, you name it!), perfectionism (hello straight As) and an eating disorder in college, I realized I was called to do this work. I soon learned my lived experiences did not make me weak, rather they became a superpower to connect more deeply, innately and compassionately with my clients. I wanted to redefine therapy and provide the services that so many desperately need, but make it human, personable, and relatable. That’s my style- human first, therapist second.
Since my journey as therapist began, I have had experiences in many areas including: substance use, trauma, and many levels of care for eating disorder treatment (Residential, PHP, IOP). Other specialties of mine include navigating: life transitions, relationship dynamics, anxiety, perfectionism, depression and therapy for high performers. I have sought extensive trainings in EMDR, CPT, CBT and DBT. My goal as a therapist is to always meet my clients where they are at, create a warm (and fun) space, and explore hidden stuck points that result in massive change and transformation.
