Hi, I’m Alivia!
I am originally from Connecticut but moved to Arizona a little over a year ago after living in Houston for a few years. I decided it wasn’t hot enough in Houston so why not move somewhere even hotter! I love spending time in the sun so moving to Arizona was a no-brainer. In my free time you can find me paddleboarding on a lake, baking sourdough bread or doing arts and crafts!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and received a Masters in Social Work at Smith College in Northhampton, MA. My graduate school’s focus was on psychodynamic theory and anti-racism which I incorporate into my work as a therapist. For undergrad, I attended Loyola University Maryland where I received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology.
I work with adults and young adults experiencing significant life transitions, relationship stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, questions of identity and self-esteem. I believe in the power of therapy to enhance your capacity for curiosity, self-compassion, self-understanding, and a deeper sense of self-worth.
My therapeutic approach is individualized and based on your specific needs, however some common modalities I use are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and relational therapy. I believe therapy happens at your own pace and that people can exist outside of diagnostic labels. There’s a place for humor, kindness, compassion, courage, and curiosity in the therapeutic process. As a therapist, my goal is to create a collaborative and comfortable environment for you to explore your treatment needs.
